| How has mad Gus sneaked in under the radar here? Ok, he played for us once, speaks the lingua and, er, was number two with Lids when they got relegated. Apart from the language bit I don't get it. Why Mad Gus? | |

| Why? The clue is in the "Mad". You've gotta be bonkers to work for that clown Levy and the Tottenham Circus | |

| I agree with you, it is a bit odd. The lingo is the major factor I wd say. However, lots of the Leeds fans on forums are very annoyed that he's leaving cos they say that a lot of the credit for the upturn in their fortunes this season lies with him. Poyet knows English footbal as he played in it for about 7 years and has coached in it for 1.5 years. Ramos obviously doesn't know it aswell as he's been in Spain his whole career. Poyet has all his coaching badges (I think) and is full of enthusiasm. I think he spent the time between retiring and joinging Swindon with Wise back home in Uruguay earning his coaching badges and learning his trade as a coach. Maybe they think he'll make a good number 2 for the more taciturn Ramos. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustavo_Poyet | |

| I don't think THFC PLC have thought it through. Again. Can we not get a decent number 2? I accept your points Janek but having half a decent season with a second divison team does not a football genius make. That silly two fisted COME ON thing is going to get very tedious very quickly. I think we need experience not enthusiasm. Someone like Clive Allen and a copy of Spanish for Dummies. | |

| I am prepared to take a lot of stick for saying this but I think Sammy Lee would be a great No.2 (linguistic problem aside). He was No.2 at Liverpool for years and was always involved in the England set-up. He is not going to make it as a top manager but he would be a good choice for No.2. | |

i wont give you any stick. even Mr McMahon was singing his praises on Focus the other week as a No 2. I'm also a bit miffed about Poyet - lingo aside its difficult to see the substance. Sounds a bit like a glorified translator. - Mind you, Mouriniho started out like that so there may be something in it??

Eh? Where did that come from ? Anyway, can't see why Gus has been appointed, but am prepared to give him benefit of the doubt, especially as an ex-lilywhites player. Bunch of Latinos' Blue and White Army!

| why is anyone surprised? This is typical Tottenham cronyism... employing their old boys somewhere on the staff. The only break from tradition in recent times was Man in Trenchcoat/Skeletor combo and we all know how that turned out. | |

What is it again? Could have had more had Buchler not sacked Trenchcoat Man three days before the Cup Semi Final.
