| 1. A man pushes his car in front of a hotel, stops and frowns. What's happening?
2. Deep in what had once been a dense forest, a team of fire-fighters searching through the charred undergrowth found the badly-bruised body of a man who was wearing only swimming trunks, snorkel and facemask.
The nearest lake was 10 miles away and the sea was 100 miles away.
How had he died?
3. A man lives on the 15th floor of a multi-storey block of flats. Each day when he leaves to go to work, he presses the button to call the lift, gets into the lift, travels to the ground floor, leaves the lift and goes to work.
On his return in the evening, he calls the lift to the ground floor, gets in, travels to the 9th floor then walks the rest of the way to get to his own flat.
Why?
4. You are in a room with three light switches, each of which controls one of three light bulbs in the next room. Your task is to determine which switch controls which bulb. All lights are initially off, and you can't see into one room from the other. You are allowed only one chance to enter the room with the light bulbs. How can you determine which lightswitch goes with which light bulb?

6. A man and his son are in a car crash. The father is killed and the child is taken to hospital gravely injured. When he gets there, the surgeon says, 'I can't operate on this boy - for he is my son!!!' How can this possibly be?
7. The Pope has it but he does not use it. Your father has it but your mother uses it. Nuns do not need it. Your lady friend's husband has it and she uses it. What is it?
8. There is a common English word that is nine letters long. Each time you remove a letter from it, it still remains an English word - from nine letters right down to a single letter. What is the original word, and what are the words that it becomes after removing one letter at a time?

| It's got to be a trick question. The word probably finishes with the letters A.N.D. and starts with letters I.N.
I.N.K.S.T.A.N.D
Is that a word ? | |
