Hi from Bali

Another glorious day in paradise. Or so you would have thought. Massive storm last night and it's been pissing down all day today. Add to that the fact that as we're elevated a bit here in Ubud the pool is freezing and you can see we have a problem keeping three kids entertained.

What to do? I know, take them to the internet cafe and let them play games. Wrong. The "broadband" connection is so slow it won't support all the bloody video games they want to play! Roll on tomorrow when we move down to Sanur and civilisation - it's like a hybrid of Lamma and Yang Shuo here in Ubud, fucking hippies everywhere. Hopefully the weather will be better down there too. I hope it's still pissing down there.

First couple of days were fine, today's shit. The kids are wearing their bloody cardies, my wife's wearing her jeans, it's like an English summer. We watched a semi-final match here two days ago, I swear our lot could have taken out either team. Hoping the weather is better by the sea than it is in the hills or I'll be asking for a refund. Trust you're not missing me too much.

It's very on-and-off here, was chucking it down just before.

If the kids are bored invent a game for them to play (how old are they?)

Or make up an indoor crazy golf course, you know use your imagination. Probably more fun for them than going online and playing games.

This is just from personal experience, so don't shoot the messenger or think i'm trying to be patronizing (i ain't).

Well it's chucking it down with rain in HK, typhoon 10 on its way, black rain cloud warning and all the bars are closed for next 10 days due to new threat of SARS.

Snowing beautifully here in Queenstown. The skiing's great and the wine even better. Oh, and I'm supposed to be working here at the moment. It's a tough life Laughing
