Sunderland v Spurs - Delaney's Wanchai, Saturday August 11th

Hopefully the consensus is that we'll be watching the match at Delaney's - I'm interested to see how many people we can expect to turn up. I'll be there, how about you?

Hairy is organising drinks in Delaney's this Wednesday, can you check once and for all! Please? Tell them it will be worth their while, we should be mob-handed. thought we already had confirmation on this forum earlier that Delaney's upstairs bar would indeed be open in time for the Premier League kick off.

As for the discount - given its an early kick off vs Sunderland, any discount would only be valid at the end of the game as most of the time it would be happy hour - that is unless some of us would like to eat during the game as the discount is valid on food at all times. We're on 10% discount now - if we get good numbers there on the day, despite the fact that there are a few of us out of town that day, we should have a case for a larger discount starting from the next game which kicks off outside of happy hour.

I'll try to get all the Spurs I know to turn up for that game.

Sadly not in HK for the Sunderland and Derby games. Trying to rearrange flights to be back for the Man U game, which I believe is the live Sunday game at the end of August.

Don't worry Baz. Even if they'll be quite a few of us away for the first couple of games, many of the supporters have yet to even find their way to this Forum. Word will get around surely enough and you can expect to see triple those numbers turn up on the day.

We had about 15 at McSorley's for the Arse game last season, which was before we even started talking to the Delaney's crowd - let alone having drinks and playing footie with them! I'm expecting a good turnout next weekend.

Received the following email from Hung -

"The local Spurs group has confirmed to try the South China Roof Bar as the first venue for the Sunderland gathering. I reckon the prices are quite attractive, compared with Delaney's:

$150 for a simple dinner buffet with 2 drinks of your choice. ($130 for spurs.hk members: membership fee: $80 per annum.) Of course, you cannot expect too much for the dinner.

$96 for an extra 6 beer (bottle) during happy hour (before 9 p.m.)

You are welcomed to join us with other Spurs mates, as we have to gather at least 30 guys (around 20 have confirmed to join). "

I had an MSN conversation with Hung a week or so ago and he said that they would try it out as a venue first time and we'd go to Delaney's as we'd virtually agreed on that already - if it turns out to be a great spot we could always try it next time. We've had enough trouble trying to get consensus on one venue, why don't we stick with what we've already planned and save the aggravation of another massive debate until after the Sunderland game?
