Tottenham Hotspur may not have sorted their goalkeeping conundrum yet, but they've named a new goalkeeping coah in the meantime...

35-year-old Hans Leitert has left Recreativo Huelva to become Spurs' new First Team goalkeeping coach.

The London outfit has deemed that the former Rapid Vienna, Austria Vienna, Austria U21 and Panathinaikos coach is the perfect man for the job after a long search.

The Lilywhites will likely bid for a new goalie in the summer transfer market, making Leitert's job key as the ambitious club pushes forward.

A statement on the club's official website read: "We are delighted to announce the appointment of Hans Leitert to our coaching staff.

"As a player, Leitert represented his country at Under-18 and Under-21 level before a wrist injury forced him into retirement having been the youngest goalkeeper in the Austrian top-flight during his time with VfB Mödling.

"Leitert, who holds a Master’s degree in Sports Science, has also been invited to speak at goalkeeping lectures on behalf of UEFA."

Perry Suckling has been in charge of the shot-stoppers since last year, but will now revert back to his previous role in the Academy.

Sporting Director Damien Comolli said: “We took a lot of care in our search for a new First Team goalkeeping coach. It is a crucial position at the Club, not only in terms of training and developing the First Team goalkeepers, but also because we have got a lot of quality and potential in goalkeepers of a younger age group - so it was a very important choice for us.

“We believe Hans will bring many qualities to the Club. He is a forward thinking coach who likes to employ new methods, a very enthusiastic individual who has lived and worked in different countries with different influences and has also worked with UEFA. He joins us with glowing references and an excellent reputation."

He sounds like good news.

Apparently Holy Comolli is a big Max Bygraves fan. He's taken the song "You Need Hans" a little too far IMO.
