I think Hung has hit the nail on the head. Delaney's is ideal for 40-50 people but I can see it turning into a disaster if we cram 100 supporters into the upstairs bar.

Hung - IanG does raise a good question about chanting /singing. Presume that isn't a problem ?

$96 for six beers ? Mmmmmm scratch

Chanting / singing should not be a problem.

I think the problem with the 'Big' screen at Delaney's is it's very small! Also the quality of course. I'm sure you could easily fit 100 people upstairs if they took out all the chairs and tables, which I'm sure they would be happy to do if 100 beer drinkers are going to turn up.

Judging from the photos they had a good time and a decent turnout. I don't mind watching games in that sort of environment occasionally but majority of the time I'd prefer a 'english' pub atmosphere, just as majority of hkspur probably prefer a HK style gathering.

To be honest, I suspect that the situation could be chaotic, if 100 Tottenham supporters rush into Delaney's. I am concerned that the Chinese are relatively small, and you guys might block their view, if we are all standing. That's why I reckon a bigger venue may be needed for 15/9.

For the rest (40-50 supporters), Delaney's is fine for me.[/color]

No problem, Chinese can sit down at the front, Gweilos can stand up at the back.

Not a disrespect to you, but these 2 scenario cannot happen at the same time, right? Very Happy

I reckon Delaney's could be over-crowded if 100 supporters are there.

... could we make sure that it is no further from the MTR than Delany's is, as the few of us who live at the end of the world, i.e. Lamma where we are at the mercy of the HKKF ferry timetable ( Crying or Very sad ) are likely to encounter difficulties...

I have a feeling that this thread is going to run and run. Are there no bars where we can rent a room that would accommodate 100 people for a big night? The rental surely wouldn't be that much if we promised a large number of thirsty people? What moved in to where Skitz used to be? That room with the BIG screen out the back would be ideal. Sean?

The problem with 'big' bars is they tend to operate as restaurants = no smoking. Not a problem for me but some people have said they couldn't watch in a non smoking environment.

I know what you mean though. scratch

So have we made a call for where we will watch the Derby game this Saturday or are people waiting for the Everton game tonight before they make a decision to watch another game in public?!

If I recall correctly we should be having an LA based comrade in town for the weekend.

Any place that can get that many Spurs supporters in one room is fine by me - its always nice to have a regular home. I agree about the tables though - didn't necessarily want to sit but the tables and chairs take up too much space...would be cool if they could be moved aside somehow to create more of a standing room atmosphere in the back.

Hi Jeff, did you manage to fully convert your friend (I think her name was Debbie or Denise) to being a true Tottenham fan yet??

See you on Saturday!!

Nothing in there yet as far as I know, but I'll be the first to know up until January as I'm still the licensee of the whole premises. Hope someone takes it over soon, nice little earner that one!!
