| Serves him right. UEFA deserves an applause for their decision... - Quote :
- Celtic have been fined £25,000 following the incident between Dida and a home supporter at last week's UEFA Champions League game, while the Milan goalkeeper has been banned for two matches.
A Celtic fan ran onto the pitch following the conclusion of the dramatic game at Parkhead and tapped the Brazilian on the face.
Dida gave chase for a few yards before falling to the ground, and he was later stretchered off clutching an ice pack.
There was some speculation that Celtic could face a points penalty or be forced to play upcoming games behind closed doors.
However, the Scottish champions have escaped without serious punishment following a meeting of Uefa's control and disciplinary body.
They have been made to pay £25,000 for failing to keep the fan off the pitch, but will be relieved to keep the three points they earned from the 2-1 victory that night.
Uefa has been harsher on Dida, with the keeper now unavailable for Milan's home and away games against Shakhtar Donetsk in Champions League Group D, after it was deemed he had feigned injury.
The ban is based on the Uefa disciplinary regulation that states: "Member associations, clubs, as well as their players, officials and members, shall conduct themselves according to the principles of loyalty, integrity and sportsmanship."
No disciplinary action has been taken against Milan, who now have three days to appeal against Dida's suspension. | |

| Milan have a history of turning around heavy punishment, Berlusconi's tentacles spread far and wide. I wouldn't be surprised if they appeal and get it reduced to one game only. | |

| Remember the Chilean goalie "Rojas" or "Rochas" or something like that. During a crucial World Cup qualifier with Brazil, he faked that he had been hit by missiles from the crowd and tried to get the game suspended. He was banned for 1 or 2 years and Chile didn't get to World Cup 1994. | |
