it's a tough one James. The 360 is now getting on a bit but has a slew of very very good games. It looks like shit and has no HD DVD player but XBox live is brillaint and, like I say, there are many very good games out there. The old reliabilty issues have now been resloved (no more rings of death on the new models as the old dodgy chipsets have been upscaled) and newer 360's have built in HDMI. Oh, and it costs less than a PS3. BUT the PS3 is the one for the future. In reality there are not many killer apps (not one IMHO) for it and it has yet to get going in terms of games. However in does have built in Blu Ray and is of a much higher spec than ye olde 360. In 18 months time the 360 will be old an the PS3 SHOULD have lots of great titles. The problem is that Sony have messed up the price of the PS3 only this week announced another drop in the retail price. You could get one this week and there may be another price slash or wait until after Christmas where I bet there ill be another reducton in the cost. Depends what you want and how much money you have. By the way the current PS3 is HUGE so don't be surprised if a slimmer version is released in the not too distant future.

An article in the newspaper today apparently says that a new version of PS3 (40GB) will be on sale on 11 Nov for $2,680. Rather cheap IMO, but I am still more inclined to get an XBox if at all.
