"City challenge Spurs for Poulsen
5 November 2007
Manchester City are reportedly bidding £7million for Sevilla central midfielder Christian Poulsen.
The deal would trigger a £7million get-out clause in Poulsen's contract, meaning the 27-year-old could force a move even if Sevilla reject the bid.
Poulsen commented ambiguously on the negotiations. "I am happy in Seville but the club has to decide on this issue," said the Danish international.
Poulsen's agent also revealed he has had an offer from a 'London club' but refused to divulge the name - intensifying speculation that it could be Tottenham, now managed by former Sevilla boss Juande Ramos. Ramos has targetted several of his former charges, including Fredi Kanoute, Escude and Daniel Alves."

Don't think it's GBP, read in other reports that it's more like 7 mil Euros... or 3.5 - 4 mil GBP, roughly. Doesn't seem an exorbitant sum of money if Juande reckons him...
