Let's try this, some good books I've read recently that I'd recommend:

Glass Palace - Amitav Ghosh
Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini
Shantaram - Gregory David Roberts
Last King of Scotland - Giles Foden (much better than the film)
Swing when I'm Winning - Daniel Reynolds

Also just started James Clavell's series on HK, only read the first one called "Tai Pan", but it was a good read.

All the James Clavell books were excellent, shame he only wrote about 6 or 7.

Can't wait for 'Swing When I'm Winning' to be made into a film. Truly a classic of modern day lit.

I'm currently reading "Wolves Eat Dogs" by Martin Cruz. Superb read. Detective thriller set in Russia.

I'm reading Parade Issue 34 Vol. 6 and Razzle Issue 45 vol. 4

Just finished Thunderbolt Kid by Bill Bryson - excellent read for those my age :-)

Currently reading 'The Left Hand of Darkness' by Ursula Le Guin. Very different.

Recent good ones....'The Time Travelers Wife' , 'The Memory of Running'.

The Time Traveller's Wife was a goodie.

Anyone read Kalooki Nights by Howard Jacobson ? Brought it at Christmas along with Richard North Patterson - Exile.

I'm currently reading Crime and Punishment. Stunning book.

I'm reading "Oasis - the world's best airline" by Jeremy "Biggles" Butts.

That cracked me up.
