I read somewhere Gilberto hasn't started a competitive game since mid December 07 because of injury and German league winter break. affraid

Correct, 16 Dec was his last game I think according to the official site. Nearly 3 months ago.

I think the fitness coach Alvarez will have put him through his paces. Ramos will only pick him if he's fit enough to bomb up and down the wing as he likes his full-backs to do.
