I think we will definitely challenge for top 4 next season and if we buy well, are lucky with injuries and, most importantly, get off to an excellent start, may well even have an outside though slim chance of challenging for the league. The scenario for next year is quite similar to, if not better than, 2 years ago when we fell out of the Top 4 on Dodgy Lasagna Day. We have a new manager who has the support of everyone upstairs, players who will play for the manager, and an overall "feel good" factor at the club. Confidence breeds confidence and if we start off well and the squad is healthy, Ramos' tactics and psychology is good enough to ride the momentum for all it'll give.

as the commentators keep repeating on manager mode on FIFA, "where you are after 10 games is usually not too far off where you finish" - as long as we start the season on a good note, success breeds success. Getting Bale back and hopefully the end isn't nigh for Ledders - with the additions made in January, hopefully Hudd keep improving, Jenas finding a bit more consistency, Lennon enjoying a summer break and a full pre-season training, keeping Berba and Bent finding some form - we should already have a squad that can challenge for Top 5. Any further quality purchases would be a bonus. I see in clubs interim results that Levy talks about having brought the summer spending forward to the January window - hinting that maybe we are only a couple of players away from a complete squad.

I agree with Tottingham's assessment. Only 2 or 3 major signings this summer.

The following are very important:

1. none of our players will be playing in Euro 2008

2.Ramos will have given them a full pre-season which will have them puking their guts out

3. Ramos will ensure that we play some harder teams in friendlies that Leyton Orient and South African teams
