What is your personal favourite era following Spurs. What season or period of time means the most to you in Tottenhams rich history? It doesn't have to reflect success (not hard) but rather from an emotional point of view. Me? Well I'd have to say that the Francis years were special for me as it was the time I really began to obsess over each and everything THFC and, although we were ultimatley unsuccessful, there were a few glorious moments.

What was yours?

It's gotta be the Ozzie and Ricky years: '78 - '84. Magical.

89-93 - El Tel years.

Partly because that's when I had a season ticket.

Secondly, with El Tel, Gazza and Lineker I really felt we weren't a million miles off from achieving greatness. Had we kept Waddle, signed a decent centre half and a striking partner for Lineker, who knows.....

It was also the last period Spurs were part of the footballing elite. Wasn't much between Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Ltd, and Everton back then.

I think i would have to say the last few years, with Jol's promise being turned into success by Ramos. Our League Cup final victory over Chelski has to be the best moment for our club since the FA Cup win in 1991 - 17 long and hard years.

However, I also really enjoyed Kilinsmann's first season under Francis when I thought we were going to win the FA Cup, he and Teddy were a joy, with that 2-1 FA Cup win at Anfield the highlight.

Also, in a strange sort of way, I did enjoy the 1998-99 season, under Gross and Graham, when Ginola was unstoppable. He was the only flair player we had, the team just used to give the ball to him and let him get on with it. I particularly remember the 3-1 League Cup QF win over Man Utd, the 2-0 FA Cup replay win over Leeds and of course that wonderful solo goal against Barnsely in the FA Cup QF. I went to Wembley to see us win the League Cup and although the game was awful, it was a great way to win it in the last seconds with 10 men.

The Present.

Although the past few weeks have been an anti-climax, I can't forget the many, many great moments I've enjoyed following Spurs this season.

Beating the gooners 5 - 1 in the Semis's was simply AMAZING. Coming back to beat Chel$ki in the final OVERWHELMING. And seeing Juande Ramos paraded at WHL for the 1st time. The GREATEST.

The only worrying factor for me right now, is the potential loss of Berbatov. Counting the number of goals and assists over the past 2 seasons, there's a high chance his loss could be significant for us.

I expect an 11th hour (record-breaking) $$$ deal with Berba off to Italy.

I would say 1980s until Hoddle left. 1987 was the only year since I started supporting Spurs from 1972 that we were very serious title contenders. How we ended up with nothing that year I'll never know!

I found this little gem from my favourite era on Topspurs.

Notice the jammed packed terraces. Great atmosphere.
