| Source: Daily Express Spurs boss Juande Ramos is determined to win the race to sign England’s emerging star David Bentley, who is ready to quit Blackburn in the summer, and the north London side are apparently favourites to beat Liverpool to sign the England international. Although manager Mark Hughes has said recently that he expects Bentley to stay at Rovers it is thought that the lure of a return to London could prove too much for the young midfielder. I'd love this one to be true. Bentley, Bale, Modric and our yet to be signed midfield general "Gatusso-like".

| In reality however, I reckon it's more likely we sign Diego Capel from Sevilla. He's a top class act. | |

agree. think the lad has a big future both on AND OFF the field. Think Levy can see the value in that too and will give it a big push to sign one of England's best players and biggest "stars". Bentley knows Capello is at The Lane every other week. If we pull it off, it will be a MASSIVE (and very popular) signing. It's gonna cost big bucks tho. ..

| But Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is eyeing up Gareth Barry and Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani to bulk up his squad. (Daily Telegraph) Tottenham are ready to match Blackburn's £15m valuation of David Bentley and bring the ex-Arsenal midfielder to White Hart Lane. (The Daily Express) Spurs are also ready to beat Newcastle to the signing of Celtic winger Aidan McGeady. (Mirror) http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/gossip_and_transfers/7391590.stm | |

I'd rather spend that money on the other GB talent (Gareth Barry) if he is available. .. although with only 1 year left on his contract, it could be a bit less.

.. although with only 1 year left on his contract, it could be a bit less. I understand you Hairy but the pt is Ramos seems has lost his patience in Lennon which made him to search for a new right winger If finally Lennon say gdbye , we could see the deal like this. We signed Lennon for about a million and offload him for 8M which we made a profit of 7M Those 7million plus another 8M up to 15M for Bentley . This sound overpirce but actually we've just spend 1M (cost of signing Lennon , which we got back 7M profit) + 8M = 9M and Ramos got wht he needs It's resonable We're not Bolton and Big Sam who hv to be caution in every transfer We've got gd finance basis , gd reputation , great supporter and finally we've found a gd manager The transfer market today make us put the first attention everytime , on the price tag , but no one can judge whether 15M for Bentley is unrealistic or not but only his performance Tht's no different bewteen a bosman signing and a club-record signing when u finally found out tht he's crap And we still hv bunch of medicore waiting for ship out

| i'd rather have GM pederson for 4m than bentley for 15m
We've been way over-spending on players and they just dont seem to perform for us.

Agree. For that sort of money we should buy Giovanni Dos Santos instead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJEQREsBcJ0 A holding midfield with the experienced Gareth Barry and an attacking (and noticably Latino) force of Modric, Dos Santos (Mex), Capel(Sp), Diego Milito(Arg) and Keano(Gypsy) would be handful for ANY TEAM in England AND Europe. ...The 80's are coming back under General Ramos you Mothers ! !! . Boring but true, I wouldn't mind the experience of Richard Dunne in central defence either. He'd be perfect as you would expect him to slot in straight away. City didn't let in many this season. Him and Woodgate = SOLID. In a weird way, he reminds me a bit of Steve Bruce, in his playing days. Would be a very, very savvy signing I think. Even at the reported 5M, a very lucky snip for us.
