| Hello Everyone Euro's less than a week away. Time to set up a prediction league. I shall put up this smart toaster as first prize. It's good quality, won't burn your house down and on the off chance that it does, I promise to give you a free replacement ( toaster, not house ). Here's how it'll work : 2 Points for Correct Result 4 Points for Correct Score All predictions must be made at least an hour before kickoff. All participants should also predict the 2 finalists before the start of the tournament - Each correct team will get you 10 points, so if you get both right, that's 20 points so the league will be interesting right up to the final. I'll update the standings every day or every other day depending on how busy I am. Also if everyone takes part and it's really close, i'll consider putting up a prize for second as well. any suggestions on improving the contest would be appreciated. Thoughts anyone? | |

| Great Idea Chris. I am IN!
I suggest all predictions done before the tourny starts. Arrange a similar one myself a few years back with five categories, inc predicting the two finalists (with predicting the score as a tie-break), plus top goalscorer, naming the 8 1/4 finalists, etc as other categories, so everyone always had somehting to play for as the comp went on.

| dan, i thought about doing a fantasy league but in the end i figured this format would have more members involved on a day to day basis.
We could do a seperate fantasy thing, but i still think that a good old prediction league would be fun fun. Thoughts anyone?
number 10, thanks for your suggestions, i was thinking of adding several bonus rounds, but that would be kind of unfair to everyone who did well in the daily prediction but messed up on the bonus rounds. I added the finalists bonus in case the race was too tight. tho top goal scorer should definitely be added.
everyone's opinion is welcome, i'll go with the masses on this one.
my format :
Correct Result 2 Points Correct Score 4 Points Correct finalist 10 Points Each Correct Top Goal Scorer 10 points ( Minus 5 for anyone who says cristiano ronaldo )
Everyone should be in by Friday at the latest or we'll start without you. Also all predictions should be made by 8pm on the day of the match. Any later and your prediction will be disqualified.
I shall play as well, but only for bragging rights. In the unlikely event that I win, second place gets the toaster.
