Middlesbrough's Stewart Downing insists he was never interested in a move to Tottenham.
Spurs are long-term admirers of the Middlesbrough winger and have made numerous bids over the past 18 months to try and land him.
However, the 23-year-old says a move to North London was not an appealing option.
"I knew I would not go to Tottenham and settle," he told the Daily Express.
"At this time, I am happy to stay and I have signed a new contract at Middlesbrough.
"Maybe one day I'll move on, go to a bigger club, but I'm happy here."
