Saturday Night

we need to get there for 9pm. We need to discuss the game and tactics. As a way of preparing for this can all those playing please say what experience they have had playing 5/9 a-side footy. It is 9 a-side right?

Umm..well as I've alluded to my enthusiasm outweighs my ability.

Experience at 9 a side level?? Well since its a pretty obscure number I doubt many have had experience with that number? I've played a few 5 a sides with friends, and back at school i played for the 'B' team a few times in 11 a side, where i played right back and right midfield.

Tactics I'm guessing the best knowledge will come from those such as GDG, James, Tottingham as they seem to play most regularly. Is it wise discussing tactics on this board where Hung is lurking

No it's not and that is why we should meet a bit earlier. Personally I played a lot around 5 years ago and not since. I am as rusty as Rusty Lee. So thats two of us that are not much cop. Looking good

I am confident that the regular players we have will inspire us to victory.

Its a shame we didnt have time to organise a trainging session, where we could take about this sorta stuff, and get used to playing as a team a bit.

Yeah, I will be there by 9pm. My mobile is 96440724 just in case anyone has trouble finding the pitch.

BTW, we will probably decide whether it will be 7, 8 or 9-a-side after getting to there and have a feel for its actual size.

James, How long is each game?

I hate to say this, but I think there will only be one game of two halves, so bring your oxygen tank.

Thats going to be 45 mins each way then. I'm bringing the Oxygen tank and some medical staff.

7 a-side is very tiring. We may need longer than 10 minutes

Two ten minute halves and a 45 minute break sounds about right :-)

I dreamt that the match ended 1-1 two nights ago...

These games normally have more than 2 goals in them. Well, the ones I have played in do anyway. more like 8-9 that kind of thing.
