About last night...

well I haven't been to a SiHK gathering recently but I last night was great. Good to see all the regularsand I think that it's now as close to going to see Spurs at the Lane as you are likely to get in Hong Kong. Tottenham may not be a glamorous side and they may be a pretty crap team most of the time but as always Tottenham supporters are a thing of great beauty and it is lovely jubbly to have such a group to watch the games with. Highlights for me was seeing those I hadn't seen for a while (hi Jeff!) and Ezza's abuse of the pikey supporter in a jumper on the TV. Oh, and the quiz of course. I was also disapointed how quiet the West Ham supporters were. They started well but were drowned out by our singing
Quality evening to be repeated for many years to come I hope.
Respect is due.

I'll never forget when I was last at West Ham, for the game which we won 1-0 when Poyet knocked himself out scoring the winner. I was in the away section, but close to the home fans. There was some skinhead there who was holding his 3 year old daughter in one arm and then with the other arm doing a Nazi salute and shouting at Zeige that he was a "f*cking Nazi b*stard". How charming.

That was the result of a lot of red wine on a junk trip earlier in the day and then a few pints at the game! Got me in the singing mood!

It was great to see most people in the pub singing "Oooooh wheeeen theeee Spuuuurs" all the way through a couple of times. Always makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Unfortunately, the Scum (away) match will be at 20:45 on 22/12. I reckon many of our local lads will be unable to attend the Delaney's gathering.

Yes a splendid gathering. Thankfully Mr Riley's performance was sufficiently bad that I was able hurl some choice Anglo-Saxon in his televisual direction!

Every club likes to claim they have the best supporters but few put their money where their mouth is like Spurs fans. We're a terrific bunch of supporters. Let's just remind ourselves of our league and cup record in the past 20 years ! It's amazing we generate such support here in HK. No plastic fans amongst us.

No other supporter group in HK makes the sort of noise we do. With the possible exception of Liverpool I've yet to come across a bar in HK packed with a similar number of dedicted fans. The notion West Ham, Newcastle, Man City and Everton are of similar status is a joke, at least in Hong Kong it is.

Another proud night in the history of sihk.

Good atmos last night. There were only about 4 West Ham fans in Maya I believe and 2 (mates of mine) in Delaney's. Poor showing for them considering they are higher in the table than us.

If you compare the atmos from our supporters in HK to other supporters, the only ones that come close to atmos is probably the Liverpool lot.

I'd like to add that since sihk was formed it has gone some way to restore my faith in the view a club is ALL about the supporters first, second and third. Nothing else matters if that sense of tribalism / brotherhood prevails.

As you saw, I was there with 3 friends. A Leicester fan from London and two Liverpool fans, one from Beijing and one from London.

They were amazed that there were so many of us, that we had a flag and that we were singing all the songs! I was very proud to show you all off to them!

Despite it being totally outrageous behaviour, what get's me is that even if you are a righ-wing brian-dead neandathal, being a 'visual Nazi' at a football match is so unfashionable and makes you look like a complete knob to all around you. Bit like dancing away to Euro-crap pop music!

Ozspur made a good point the other day. Said Chelsea were renowned for being a racist club, booing black players etc, yet now they have a worldwide fan base. I wonder how many of these 'new' fans know about Chelsea's racist reputation.
