it's so funny in a rich mans world.

So we have two lines of cash flowing around SiHK right now. Edmans shirts and the Tram party. Now I know all of you appreciate that hard work Edman, Baz and others put in to get flags/T-Shirts/SiHK shirts/quizes etc sorted out. It's great and that is what makes us such a thing of beauty but it also costs money. Right now we have the Shirts and the Tram to pay for and the list is below.

I've marked all those paid and am on my way to the ATM to settle my outstanding debts right now.

This is the fucking 21st century, right? I've just tried to transfer the money for the shirt from my HSBC account to Bank of East Asia on the ATM - can't do that. So I went to the branch and asked to transfer the money from my account - "we can do that sir but we will charge you $150 to do so." What the fuck is that all about???

So how am I supposed to transfer the money? I have to write a cheque and go to the Bank of East Asia to deposit it. I fucking hate banks and if there was ANY way at all I could get by without them I would.

So I've paid for the tram party but will have to make another excursion to pay for the shirt.

Daniel - I got a message from Edman to confirm that it is ok that I pass him the money for the shirt on 15 Dec. I will run in the same issues as GDG in terms of transferring money from HSBC to BEA and there is no BEA branch around my office location.

As for the cost of tram ride - I did asked before do you need the $95 pronto. If yes I will walk to the nearest HSBC branch to deposit in your a/c. Otherwise I will pass the money to you on 15 Dec or on this friday night at drinks (if we are going to have one). Let me know

Ok, despite the HK banking system doing its level best to deny me, I have managed to deposit said funds in BEA Central branch (31 Queen's Road) at 2.24pm today. GDG's credit remains good. For now.

don't worry abt all the trouble of trf money. u can't do the transfer b'coz there are 2 atm system in hk. 1st: hsbc+ hang seng bank, 2) all the other banks. that s why if u r hsbc client, u have to stick with them.

for those who will go to the tram party or to watch the game after party, can just give me the money on 15th.

I've already done it now! I still contend that in the 21st century we should be able to transfer from one bank to another.

Edman, I've done that already too - I'm very efficient sometimes. Let me know who's paid you and I'll keep the list up to date.
