However, it seems as if the Czech league hasn't yet started up again after their winter break, which means they shd be a bit rusty as their last competitive game was in December. Also good to see they have a league game on the weekend inbetween the two legs (we haven't) and that their leading scorer Vlcek was sold to Anderlecht in the January transfer window. They do have Vladimir Smicer there, who seems to be winding down his career back home.

Should be a relatively comfortable tie for us, I just hope we establish a 2 or 3 goal first leg lead so we can rest some players for the return leg at WHL which is on the Thursday before the Carling Cup final on the Sunday.

Spurs starlet Tomas Pekhart is in line to make his first-team debut shortly after receiving a UEFA Cup boost.

Tottenham’s young striking prospect Tomas Pekhart is on the verge of making his Spurs debut as the club all but confirmed his rise to fourth-choice striker at White Hart Lane by promoting him to their UEFA Cup squad.

The Czech Republic Under-21 star has impressed at both reserve team level for Spurs as well as in the international arena, and has now leapt above a number of other Spurs forwards in Juande Ramos’s pecking order to replace Jermain Defoe as the man to turn to in the absence of Dimitar Berbatov, Robbie Keane and Darren Bent.

Pekhart signed from Slavia Prague in 2006, and could even be in line to make his Spurs debut against his former club in either of the two UEFA Cup Round of 32 ties this and next week, particularly if Ramos looks to rest his first-choice forwards ahead of the Carling Cup final against Chelsea next Sunday.

Spurs have confirmed their UEFA Cup squad list for the rest of the tournament and Pekhart, Jonathan Woodgate, Gilberto and Jamie O’Hara are the new faces included in the latest selection. Paul Stalteri, Anthony Gardner, Phil Ifil and Defoe are out of the squad as they have left the club while Terry Dixon’s long-term injury has seemed him drop off the list too along with Matthew Wells.

Couldn't dissagree more, winning is a habbit and the first team need to keep playing together to gel. A tight 1-0 win away followed by a full strength spurs taking them to the cleaners 5 or 6 - 0 at the lane. Giving us confidence going in to the final against the Chels!

The fact that I have a ticket for next thrusdays game at the lane has no bearing on my views whatsoever, honestly

The midfielder suffered the strain on Tuesday and therefore hasn't travelled to the Czech Republic for Thursday's UEFA Cup Round of 32, first leg encounter. He joins fellow hamstring sufferer Michael Dawson on the missing list and Gilberto, who has a calf problem.

Alan Hutton is ineligible as his former club Rangers have dropped into the UEFA Cup as a third-placed finisher in the Champions League. Ledley King has travelled, as has young striker Tomas Pekhart - like Radek Cerny, a former Slavia Prague player.

Meanwhile, Gareth Bale (foot) and Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee) remain out.

Explains why Gilberto has been absent, wonder if he'll make the League Cup final? Looking doubtful.
