Defoe is ineligable to play against Spurs

As reported on BBC Sport this morning. Reason being that Defoe was "technically" signed on a loan deal on 31st January, with the premanent deal agreed in February.

'Appy 'arry is understandably having a good moan. I can't say I'm too disheartened to hear that. Just a bit surprised the announcement has come 24 hours before the match is due to be played.

I'm a little disappointed actually. I'd have like to see him play at the lane to see how he got on. Has his game changed much or is he forever getting caught offside and refusing to chase the ball ?

Although he nearly score in every matches, however at the same time the Midfielders who used to score in the 1st half season , like Krancjar and Muntari , didn't look sharp recently after Defoe's arrival. The reason pompey performed well in 1st half season is becoz they hv a strong midfield who can score , such as Muntari , Krancjat and Utaka.
As you know Defoe is a pure striker and he never know how to create chance and space for his team-mates.

It's a gd move for him but i hv never regret tht we let him go. He's simply not suitable for us, we're playing team football , he can score , but tht's all.

Still, it would have been good to see him in action at the Lane. I hope he travels anyway and gets a good reception.
